Currently I am nearing the end of my post graduate studies; a Professional Masters in Games Development at the University of Abertay Dundee .

In 2011 I graduated from BA (Hons) Computer Arts also here at Abertay where I have undertaken some great opportunities working as part of a design team on projects with major organisations such as the BBC, NCR and Tern TV.

I am most interested in Character Animation including the technical side- learning to model, rig and skin efficiently. I also enjoy drawing and working with Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffects.

This site displays some examples of my work so far, please feel free to get in touch if you have any queries or advice.

Thanks

Marnie :]

Tern TV Concept Sketches

During my 3rd Year I have been working on a group project with fellow Computer Arts students for Tern TV, based on the world of the book "But n Ben A-Go-Go" by Matthew Fitt. The book is set in a dystopian future Scotland in 2090 where the worlds water level has risen massively and only the Highlands or 'Drylands' as they are now known, survived. the Scottish population now live on oil rig type floating cities called 'Parishes' and live in fear of the dreaded "senga" a highly contagious disease resembling HIV. I was working on environments in the story.

Here you can see some very rough concept sketches.

'Drylands'

'But n Ben' situation on the Drylands-

1st concept sketches of Parishes, looking at slums-

Rigo Imbeki Medical Centre- A huge 2000 story wrought iron structure with tiny porthole style windows. Glass elevators run the length of each side of the building taking half an hour from top to bottom.

These elevators are Rennie Macintosh style bars/cafes to keep visitors occupied during the journey.

The sufferers of 'senga' are confined in these coffin like structures called 'Kists'.
