Currently I am nearing the end of my post graduate studies; a Professional Masters in Games Development at the University of Abertay Dundee .

In 2011 I graduated from BA (Hons) Computer Arts also here at Abertay where I have undertaken some great opportunities working as part of a design team on projects with major organisations such as the BBC, NCR and Tern TV.

I am most interested in Character Animation including the technical side- learning to model, rig and skin efficiently. I also enjoy drawing and working with Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffects.

This site displays some examples of my work so far, please feel free to get in touch if you have any queries or advice.

Thanks

Marnie :]

Dragon Project-Animation

My first attempt at traditional animation.

I worked in a group with 3 other students, each working on 10seconds of the animation. I covered the 1st section.

Our story is about this dragon, who is old, frail and cannot fly or breath fire anymore. He struggles slowly onto the screen with his Zimmer Frame, having to stop to take a breath frequently, tail limp and lifeless dragging along the floor. He sees some young agile dragons fly past breathing fire and he lets out a depressed sigh. As he carries on walking he comes across an Oil Can on the ground. Supporting himself on the Zimmer, he reaches down, his shaking hand stretching towards the can; finally he manages to clamp on. Dragon studies the label for a second, and quickly lifts the can downing its contents. As he lifts it higher to get the dregs he leans backwards, toppling over and collapsing on the floor, trapped under the Zimmer. Dragon lies eyes closed sprawled on the floor, breathing very lightly and slowly, belly grumbling. Suddenly he lets out a huge burp; fire spouts out of his mouth, the Zimmer pings off his belly and gets frazzles in the flames. The screen is engulfed in smoke. The smoke clears with a gust of wind from Dragons flapping wings, he hovers just above the ground until the smoke is cleared and then lands firmly, a wide grin spreading across his face, he turns and walks into the distance, tail swishing high in the air a spring in his step and whistling a jolly tune.
