Currently I am nearing the end of my post graduate studies; a Professional Masters in Games Development at the University of Abertay Dundee .

In 2011 I graduated from BA (Hons) Computer Arts also here at Abertay where I have undertaken some great opportunities working as part of a design team on projects with major organisations such as the BBC, NCR and Tern TV.

I am most interested in Character Animation including the technical side- learning to model, rig and skin efficiently. I also enjoy drawing and working with Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffects.

This site displays some examples of my work so far, please feel free to get in touch if you have any queries or advice.

Thanks

Marnie :]

'BBC Prototype' Project Mock Up Videos

This is an example video for our photo Montage Project. It is an application which could be used in conjunction with social networking websites such as Facebook. Its purpose is to combine user uploaded photographs from common events to create a 3D montage of shared experiences.

Harnessing existing technology our idea would take it a step further merging photographs taken by large communities of users such as T in The Park, utilising the much loved social aspect of tagging with an additional ability to navigate through time as well as space.

For example the user would navigate through the photo recreation of T In The Park exploring the 3D world as they wish. Imbedded within the relevant areas of the world such as The Main Stage and The Slam Tent, will be BBC video and audio footage of band performances, interviews, links to content recommendations and related sites, which will be identified using tagging.

Here is an example we created to show how this 3D world would look

Another possibility would be for users to import their friends list from Facebook in order to easily tag and find their friends content within the 3D environment.

Another good example of how this application could be used would be an event such as the London Marathon. With photos commonly taken on digital cameras and camera phones, they will be embedded with a timestamp which could be merged into a recreation of the racetrack; this could allow users to relive their experience of the race accurately tracking the journey of themselves and their friends over time.

We added a Time Wheel to the user interface to allow this functionality.

Here is a mock up of the IMAX we created from the view out of our window, you can see as the user turns the wheel the photos animate through time.
